The Power of Perceived Value - Restroom Edition

Why pay to go?  Why not use the porta potties?

"I'd rather pee my pants than pay"

"$4 to go pee!  I'm not rich"

"You'd better wipe my @ss for that price"

These are all things people have said to me when I tell them it's not free to use the air conditioned, flushing, guaranteed clean, luxury bathroom in front of them.

You get what you pay for.  Events are going to offer porta potties because it is cost effective.  It is not free - it is wrapped up into your ticket cost.  That smelly hot rectangle represents "free" or the cheapest.  When is the last time you paid for a bottle of water?  Water is offered for free at drinking fountains, but we still buy the bottled water because it is BETTER.

I will now shock you with how much time, money, and effort it takes to operate a restroom trailer at an event:

Cost of trailer - $40,000

Vehicle registration - $2,500

Truck to pull trailer - $40,000

Auto and General Liability Insurance - $3,000/year

Storage - $200/Mo

Decor and Supplies - $1,000

Time - 4 hours to deliver, 4 hours to pick up (this includes waste disposal, set up, cleaning, etc.)

Free ALWAYS represents the least expensive, lowest tier option.  You deserve better, women deserve better.  That is why it makes sense to pay.
